Škoda Superb Liftback for weeks: extended rental in Prague

The Škoda Superb Liftback is perfect for a few weeks if you spend hours behind the wheel daily and want comfort, space and automatic transmission. At JJ Rent Car, it comes with a 2.0 TSI engine, automatic transmission, five seats, air conditioning and navigation. For a longer rental, what matters most is how long you need the car, how many kilometres you'll drive and how the mileage limit is calculated. We'll walk through this first, then show you the booking process.

Who should consider Superb Liftback for weeks

Extended rental makes sense when buying a car or committing for years isn't in the cards:

  • Project or contract work in Prague and surrounding area. You commute between offices, construction sites or clients and need a quality car without a long-term contract.
  • Replacement vehicle. Your car is in service or out of order and the downtime stretches for weeks.
  • Business trips. Lots of kilometres across the country – a car where you won't be exhausted after three hours.
  • Extended family holiday. Four to five people and luggage across Europe, where you want comfort and a spacious boot.

If you're deciding between body styles, also check out the Škoda Superb Combi. The Liftback is a more elegant saloon with a wide boot lid, while the Combi offers more space for bulky items.

What it's like living with it for weeks: comfort and practicality

On an extended rental, small details that you'd miss on a day trip become noticeable.

  • Automatic transmission. In morning traffic and on motorways, it's clear that you don't need to shift. After a week you'll get used to it and won't miss manual transmission.
  • Navigation included. You don't need to mount your phone and worry about cables. When making repeated journeys between different places, this adds real value.
  • Spacious boot. The Liftback has a wide-opening lid, so suitcases, samples or sports equipment fit easily. We don't quote exact volumes here – find that in the vehicle details.
  • Five seats. One person is enough for work, but at weekends you can take the whole family.

Don't overlook the practical side either: inspect the car before you leave and take photos so you don't have to chase anything up when you return it after weeks. How to do this is described in our article on handing over and returning a rental car, where you'll also find more tips.

Mileage allowance: how much can you cover

With a longer rental, the daily mileage allowance decreases. These are the rates:

  • 1 day: 300 km/day
  • 2–5 days: 250 km/day
  • 6–14 days: 200 km/day
  • 15–29 days: 150 km/day
  • 30+ days: 100 km/day

For example: with a 10-day rental, you'd have a limit of 200 km per day, so 2,000 km total. For a three-week rental, that's 150 km/day. If you know you'll be driving a lot, you should calculate the limit beforehand based on your planned route and possibly choose a different option.

If the limit isn't enough for you, consider long-term rental or leasing. These are designed for periods from two months onwards and assume 3,000 km per month. For companies that know they need a car for at least two months, such a solution is often clearer than repeatedly extending a short-term rental.

Fuel consumption and range in general

The Superb Liftback with its 2.0 TSI engine is petrol-powered, so you fill up at a fuel station and don't need to plan for charging. Exact fuel consumption depends on driving style, speed, load and season. It will be higher in Prague during slow traffic and in winter than on a steady motorway run. We therefore won't promise specific figures.

Practical tips:

  • Plan refuelling before a longer journey, not at the last minute.
  • Maintain steady speed on motorways – the car is built for it.
  • When taking delivery, agree on the fuel level at return.
  • If you want to compare vehicles by running costs, base it on daily mileage, not a single figure from a brochure.

Electric vehicles like the Škoda Enyaq iV have different running requirements. But if you drive irregularly and don't want to worry about charging, the petrol Superb is the simpler choice.

Abroad, insurance and terms

All vehicles have compulsory third-party and collision insurance. In case of an accident, the client pays the excess according to the insurance type. Trips abroad are only possible after prior agreement and only to EU countries. Roadside assistance is compulsory in such cases. Tell us this when booking, not when collecting the car.

To rent, you need a valid driving licence, an ID document and be at least 21 years old. The deposit amount depends on the vehicle type and is shown in the details of the Škoda Superb Liftback. All details are in the rental terms. A basic overview of the vehicle and its use can also be found in our earlier article about the Superb Liftback.
