The Škoda Superb Combi is an excellent choice for a rental lasting several weeks if you cover a lot of kilometres, carry luggage or tools, and want to travel in comfort. It features a 2.0 TDI diesel engine, an automatic transmission, built-in navigation and air conditioning, and seats five. For a longer rental, the key is to estimate your mileage limit correctly, as the daily limit decreases with the length of the rental. Below you will find what to focus on and how to book the car.
Who the Superb Combi is for on a multi-week rental
A longer rental of a large estate car suits several typical situations:
- A project or work stay in Prague and the surrounding area, where you travel between clients, construction sites or branch offices.
- A sales representative who covers long distances every week and needs a calm, quiet car.
- Bridging a service period or waiting for the delivery of your own car, when you need a full-value replacement.
- A family or couple on a long journey across Europe with a large amount of luggage (travel abroad only by prior arrangement and to EU countries).
If a smaller estate is sufficient for you, take a look at the Škoda Octavia Combi. You can also find a basic overview of the model in our earlier article, Škoda Superb Combi for rent.
What to expect from the car in everyday use
The Superb Combi offers generous space for both passengers and cargo. On a rental lasting several weeks, you will appreciate the following in particular:
- Automatic transmission – less fatigue in dense Prague traffic as well as on the motorway.
- Built-in navigation – no need to worry about phone holders or a data plan.
- Air conditioning and rear legroom – also suitable for transporting clients on business.
- Large boot – luggage, samples, tools or a pushchair fit without any fuss.
With longer use, you quickly get accustomed to the comfort of a large car. It is worth clarifying at the outset where you will park, as a longer vehicle is harder to park in central Prague than a compact car.
Fuel consumption and range in general
We cannot promise a specific fuel consumption figure, as it depends on driving style, load, season and route. As a general rule:
- The 2.0 TDI diesel engine is designed for longer journeys and tends to be more economical on motorways and open roads than in stop-and-go traffic.
- In winter and when driving with a full load, consumption increases.
- The range on a single tank is usually high for a diesel, so you will need to refuel less often when travelling between cities.
- Smooth driving and regular tyre pressure checks also have a positive effect on fuel costs.
If you are considering an electric drivetrain, our fleet also includes the Škoda Enyaq iV. For regular long journeys without the need to plan charging stops, however, a diesel is simpler.
Mileage limit on a longer rental
The daily limit decreases with the length of the rental:
- 1 day: 300 km/day
- 2–5 days: 250 km/day
- 6–14 days: 200 km/day
- 15–29 days: 150 km/day
- 30 or more days: 100 km/day
A practical example: for a 3-week rental, count on a limit of 150 km per day, which gives a total of 3,150 km over 21 days. What matters is your overall route plan, not just a single long trip. If you know you will be driving a lot, please call us before booking and confirm the arrangements. For periods of two months or more, we offer long-term rental and operating leasing with a mileage allowance of 3,000 km per month.
Superb Combi or Liftback?
Both cars belong to the large category and come with an automatic transmission and navigation. Choose the Combi if you:
- carry bulky items or more luggage,
- need a tall and wide cargo space,
- travel with equipment that is difficult to fit into a liftback.
The Superb Liftback is more suitable if you prefer a more elegant silhouette and the 2.0 TSI engine. For seven passengers, the Kodiaq 7 seats is a better choice.
